Office Cleanout

We are renovating the office for the first time since 1996. We had to clean everything out, are throwing away all the furniture unless people claimed it, and getting new everything. Stupid time to do it, but, hey, it gives the boss something to play with.

I had some funny comics up on a cabinet for the last 20 years or so that needed to be removed before the old cabinet was trashed. My friend at work made them, and they are still hilarious. I’m going to take pictures and stuff them in here for posterity. She’s a genius at so many things but this particular bit has always tickled me.

Embiggen the pics to read. Waaaaay worth it. This was back in the day when computers and handhelds were more novelty than necessity, and I had the most expensive little handheld camera and solitaire game on the planet. It was called a Treo, and it was a phone but since I never talk on the phone, it was mainly a game, plus a terrible camera with pictures that were hard to do anything with. I would play solitaire every night when I went to bed, guaranteed to knock me out after a few games. Now, I have an expensive iPhone that takes pictures and plays solitaire.

Another funny thing we had was a little homemade plaque that one of the women in the office duded up for me once I became the official office geek. It was touching and funny. Debbie Wild did it but it was also a little party so everyone was involved.

Anyway, that sucker has hung in the buildroom collecting dust for 20-25 years. Long time. The buildroom was my office, originally, and then I got a real office with a window and everything. WooHoo! That was back when I had a good boss and we could DO things. The plaque stayed in the buildroom because …. why move it. In the end, which is now, it will be thrown away with the rest of my collections of junk. I decided to take pictures of it, and then I don’t need to keep the actual objects of my (previous) desire.

Here’s one. I love Worf, but what am I gonna do with him? I gave him to a sr officer in the 501 club and he will give it away to a noob at a meeting. That works.

So, he is going to clean up after he shoots you.
